Debt was sold to Redwood and Silver Point, vulture funds that have engaged in opportunistic acquisitions in the past. Not a financial insolvency but a technical default was brought about by a missed audit deadline and the guarantor&#8217;s signature. Redwood and Silver Point, taking advantage of this technicality, ordered the handover of the entire $1.2B.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The funds also went to court instead of negotiating, and the Delaware court filings were headlined, damaging Byju, although it was not insolvent in financial terms.
