Dunes Golf & Beach Club began back in the late 1940’s when Myrtle Beach was in the midst of its growth as a tourist destination. Golf designer Robert Trent Jones Sr. was starting to gain recognition in the United States. His creativity and the peaceful coastal land makes one of the most respected golf courses in the country. The Dunes Golf and Beach Club continues to be a eulogy to the classic American golf course and the hospitality of the South.<\/span><\/p>\n

The club developed its reputation due to the flexibility of offering something that a number of traditional courses did not provide. The courses featured steep slopes, steep elevation, deep bunkers, long distances and tricky angles instead of the regular, grounded golf holes. Furthermore, the Atlantic sea breeze continually readingjust the situation and challenges and puts golfers on their toes with each shot.
